I’ve always been fascinated by the sheer power of nature, the strength Mother Nature can sometimes show when she stretches her muscles, making us humans feel pretty small and insignificant in front of her. I think waves convey that strength well. Think about how waves can, when given a few thousand years, carve into and reshape coastlines, or how waves can polish stones on the beach and make them smooth as silk. That power is what I’ve tried to capture in this painting.
